SAFEHAVEN MARINE SUCCESSFULLY UNDERTAKE A SELF-RIGHTING CAPSIZE RECOVERY TEST OF BARRACUDA IN A LIVE

Safehaven marine recently undertook a self-righting capsize recovery test for Barracuda, our new high speed, low RCS Interceptor. One of Barracudas unique features is her high levels of seakeeping and survivability in extreme conditions of wind and wave. Depending on specification Barracuda can be self-righting as a result of her very low VCG and buoyant superstructure. Barracuda posses positive stability right up to 120 degrees of heel at which point her superstructure is immersed and creates a buoyant influence to prevent further heel, or if heeled beyond this point a self-righting moment, allowing her to recover from a total knock down or roll over.
