NEWSLETTER     SUMMER 2002.RETURN TO CONTENTS

Its been a very busy time for us these last few months. The 'Naomh Cartha' an Interceptor 38 was launched in July for well respected tuna fisherman Adrian Molloy based near Killybegs off the exposed Atlantic coast of Donegal. Adrian has done fantastically well since he started working with her catching 16!!! huge Tuna to 600LB. Adrian is delighted with the boat, I have spoken to him several times, he thinks her sea keeping is excellent, especially in to head seas saying "at times 15kts can feel like 5 kts so soft is her hull, cutting the water like a knife". Also launched in July was a very striking version of our 'Flybridge cruiser' version of the 38, the 'Spirit of Silver hill' .

Since the launch of  'Naomh Cartha' in July, work commenced on our next three orders. The first underway was the new Fast Fisherman version of our Interceptor 33 for P J Bates of Kilmore Quay, Wexford. We had to design and build an all new superstructure for her. She is nearing completion now, with only final fit out and windows remaining. Were very impressed with the amount of aft deck area available on her, she will form the bases for an all new Commercial range called the 'Fast Fisherman' Of a cab fw/d forward design with  forward slopping front windows similar to our new 33. To be available on both the 38 and 42 Interceptor hulls

The twelfth Interceptor 38 is nearing completion for her owner Liam O Sulivan. A short cabin Charter Angling version to a very high spec. Fitted with a Caterpillar 420hp, bow thruster and a number of neat upgrades she promises to be one of the nicest 38's yet. She is due for launch mid October and is virtually completed.

A new version of our 42, the standard charter version (like 'True Light' without a flybridge) is under way. Hull and superstructure moulds are built, fendering completed and the deck going down she will be a superbly functional craft with great deck area from her flush deck. She is to be fitted with a Caterpillar 3196 12 litre electronic engine @ 600hp. A real beast she will be! I reckon she will be knocking on 30 kts!

STOP THE PRESS!!!  New design for 2003.

To add to our already comprehensive range of craft an all new Catermaran is under development. A 36 ft,  symmetrical Chine hulled Cat, with full length keels and a 15' 6"ft beam. A highlight of the design is the sleek and attractive superstructure which will bring to the  market a really gracfull and attractive alternative encompassing all the good points about Cat design. Work started on her back in July.  The plug for her hull mould is virtually complete now. For full details and pictures click on this link-
